AIIMS Files Police Case Against AAP Leader, Somnath Bharti

Over the past few weeks, there have been a series of allegations and complaints against AAP leaders. From charges seeking bribes corrupting the party’s said morals to bring all kinds of sex offence in the lime light, AAP leaders have outdone themselves in all areas. After MLA Amanatullah Khan, ex Delhi Waqf Board Chief, AAP leader and Delhi legislator somnath Bharti lands in fresh trouble as the chief security officer of AIIMS files a FIR for provoking the mob to damage hospital property  and  misbehaving with the hospital’s security personnel.

On September 9, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) officials  gave a written complaint , stating that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader “provoked the mob to damage the fence of the hospital with JCB at Gautam Nagar Nallah Road in order to give access to unauthorised persons inside AIIMS property and also misbehaved with security personnel”.

The police booked Bharti and six security personnel, after the medical examination under IPC sections 147 (punishment for rioting), 148 (rioting, armed with deadly weapon), 186 (obstructing public servant in discharge of his public functions), 353 (assault or use of criminal force to deter a public servant from discharge of his duty) and 3/4 Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act has been registered at Hauz Khas police station.

however just like every other AAP leader under the scrutity ,  Bharti deined the allegation while blaming AIIMS for denying “legitimate access” to Gautam Nagar residents and charges that people dismantled a wall that was restricting their access was a “blatant lie”. Raging on Twitter, Mr Bharti said, “The wall will have to go in larger interest of residents, come what may.”

Mr Bharti, who is out on bail in a case of domestic violence filed by his wife, was detained in Chennai last week for taking out a rally without permission.
