The private school teachers have been crying in Delhi and the AAP ministers including the Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal busy in the preparations for upcoming assembly polls in other states.

The AAP government had misled the teachers as Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal failed to fulfil the promises he made during the Assembly elections. The AAP government has removed the pay parity clause of private school teachers in the Delhi School Education (Amendment) Bill that was tabled in the Delhi Assembly in December 2015.

As per the information, the original Act, Section 10 (A), ensured that the private school teachers were paid at par with the government school teachers, thus stopping any potential exploitation of private school teachers by the private school management.

But in the Delhi School Education (Amendment) Bill, the AAP government, removed Clause 10 (A), and by removing the parity clause, the government potentially paved the way for exploitation of private school teachers and placed them completely at the mercy of the school managements.

The tall promises made by Arvind Kejriwal in the AAP manifesto to fill the vacant posts of teachers and regularisation of ad hoc teachers were never fulfilled.

There were 26,000 vacant posts of teachers in government schools in Delhi, though the AAP government had been in power for over 18 months.

The AAP government was completely indifferent to the plight of the guest teachers, who had been knocking at one door for the fulfilment of their demands ever since the AAP government came to power, but in vain.

Over 4000 guest teachers were fired by the AAP government a few months back. The teachers in Delhi have been crying for the help of the government, but the Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his coterie has been busy in other states.
