Rumors, Disagreements And More, The Aap Shakes Yet Again With The Release Of 3rd Candidate List

Gearing up for the battle for Punjab next year, the aam admi party overcomes an another requisite of the battle by releasing the third list of candidates on last Friday. With distribution of 29 tickets, the list included some turncoats, professional, first timers and young gun. However, not learned enough from it’s past mistakes aap doesn’t fail to disappoint many in the wake this announcement.

The party yet again party witness a rebellion by volunteers, with more than 200 volunteers metting at Adampur raising their voice against the candidature of Hans Raj Rana. In the spirit of expressing their disagreement, a 11 member committee was formed by, Dr Ravi Kumar, former excise and taxation officer SS Dhure and retired principal Harnek Singh, to talk to the party high command to replace Rana as a candidate.

“Rana is an outsider and is having no local links. He has been preferred over the volunteers, who had been working relentlessly for the past two years. It’s very unfortunate,” an aspirant told HT.

With bringing light to Rana’s prior involvement with bjp in 2012 assembly polls, members of the party raised question on his credibility. While another ticket given to Amarjit Thind, a 34 year old doctor in Shahkot also didn’t bode well with the party members as well. Senior leader  Col CD Kamboj (retd), who had left the Congress last year to join the AAP. Sources close to Kamboj said he was miffed with the selection of the candidate and has conveyed his resentment to the party high command. Sources said Kamboj, who was last week announced as vice-president of the AAP, has been promised suitable post in case the party comes to power in Punjab.

“But he has categorically told the party high-ups that his first desire was to serve the people by getting elected as an MLA. He is likely to take a few more days to take the final call,” said a leader close to Kamboj. Kamboj refused to comment on the issue.

Insipite of AAP MP Bhagwant Mann supporting the bandwagon disappointed tickets aspirants and leveling with the, there still exist party members who didn’t deter from their stand of bearing the brunt of injustice. party ticket aspirant Satpal Singla accused AAP candidate Nazar Singh Manshahia. Singla, a founding member of the party, of indulging in financial irregularities when he served in the Punjab Pollution Control Board and reasoned this behind his premature retirement from the department. Manshahiya denied the allegations saying Singla was telling lies.

From being a front face of creating an illusion of trust, faith, equity and formost unity, AAP has time and again fallen short on keeping their mission intact whether it’s within the party or outside. And now with a bag full non-impressed members, Seems like all AAP is heading in this poll, for a battle amongst themselves more than the opposition itself.

Clearing the air on “concerns” raised by PPCC Chief Amarinder Singh on the possibility of national Convener of AAP, Arvind Kejriwal taking up Punjab CM post, party official spokesperson Sukhpal Singh Khaira categorically stated that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal would never become the Chief Minister of Punjab and AAP’s Chief Miniterial face indeed would be a Punjabi .

While responding to Punjab Congress president Captain Amarinder Singh’s claim that he would not allow a non Punjabi to become the Chief Minister of Punjab, Khaira said “Since Captain has already accepted his humiliating defeat in the forthcoming assembly poll, let us ensure him once again, that Kejriwal is not at all interested to leave Delhi to become the Chief Minister of Punjab and AAP would project only a Punjabi as the next CM of the state.”

He further on clarified that AAP leadership as well as Kejriwal himself cleared the air that he would not leave Delhi and will not shift in Punjab to become the Chief Minister of the border state.

“Yes, Kejriwal would stay in Punjab to ensure AAP emerges victorious so as to take party’s mission in pan-India,” Khaira added.  Further on Khaira questioned back Captain on his take on AAP’s Punjabi CM “Now Captain should clear whether he will welcome AAP’s Punjabi Chief Minister.”

AAP Circle-Head Arrested For Rape Attempt On Dalit Teen

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Hardeep Singh was arrested onTuesday from a bus stand in Sangrur, for allegedly attempting to rape a 15-year-old Dalit girl.

Senior superintendent of police, Pritpal Singh Thind said, “On a tip-off, Hardeep was arrested from Dhindsa village at 8.45 am. During interrogation he said he is an active leader of the AAP and has close relations with AAP national convener and Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal and senior leaders Sanjay Singh, Bhagwant Mann, Durgesh and others”

A Photographer by vocation and a resident of Sangrur’s Lehal Kalan village, the accused projected himself as AAP in-charge in the village and was booked by the Moonak police two days ago for allegedly trying to rape a minor at his photo studio.

The said incident occurred on September 9, in the dark room of Hardeep’s studio, when the 15-year-old, along with her younger sister had gone to get photographed. In her statement the girl stated that while her sister was waiting outside the darkroom of the studio, the accused locked the room from inside and tried to rape her. When she screamed, her sister unsuccessfully tried to open the door, it is reported. “Later, the victim’s sister shouted after which people nearby gathered and their father also arrived on the scene. While they tried to break open the door, Hardeep himself opened the door and pushed people away to escape,” the complaint says.

Hardeep denies the claims, blaming it on a part “political conspiracy” against AAP. “All I said to her was to keep her shoulders in the correct position for the photograph, but she has alleged that I tried to rape her. The girls are my relatives. I cannot even imagine doing such an inhuman act,” he has said.

However ever so conveniently, AAP’s Sangrur convenor Jassi Sekhon, upon asked about the said accused denied being anyway related to the party. “The man in question was just a supporter of AAP and he was not an office bearer. So party has nothing to do with him in this case,” he said.

The accused is charged under sections 376/511 (attempt to rape), 354B (using criminal force to woman with intent to disrobe) and 342 (wrongful confinement) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and also under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POSCO) Act.

AAP Candidate Gets A Restraining Order For Allegedly Stalking Canadian Woman

Another one under the radar, Dev Mann, aap’s, SC/ST cell candidate for 2017’s Punjab assembly candidate is allegedly accused of stalking a Canada-based woman for making advances towards her following which she had to get a restraining order issued against him.

Speaking to a news channel, the woman, who hails from Pakistan, alleged that she met Mann at an event in Canada a few years ago and he sought a work-related appointment with her. However, when they met, she claimed, Mann made advances towards her. She said she escaped unharmed, but Mann continued to stalk her by repeatedly making phone calls.

Mann, who is contesting from Nabha and is the Punjab-in-charge of party’s SC/ST cell, however, rubbished the allegations and claiming that the woman had made the statement on directions by the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD). He further on added that he has been visiting Canada since 2000 and was working there on a work permit since 2006, but never faced any such allegation during his stay there.

However, after being announced AAP candidate for Punjab assembly elections, he became a target of SAD. Mann’s delusional self blamed two Canada-based Indians, Yash Sharma and Jassi Jasraj, of defaming him on SAD directions. “The overwhelming response that AAP is getting in Punjab has forced SAD and Congress to spread rumors about AAP workers and leaders. The Dalit voter has shifted to AAP in Punjab. I am being tarfetted because I am the head of AAP’s SC/ST cell. Allegations like this will be repeated in future as well, but I will not bow down. I will continue my work,” Mann added.

Over the recent times, it has become a usual norm for AAP leaders to victimize themselves whilst accusing their opponents, apparently everyone’s out to get them and tarnish them however, with each case coming forward the game is getting too old for public eye.

AAP Aspirants Pays Off Sexually Exploited Help To Save AAP Observer

Two days after AAP MLA Devender Sehrawat alleged that some AAP leaders in Punjab were sexually exploiting women in return for tickets to fight Assembly polls, a group of party volunteers from Barnala have alleged that a party Observer, Vijay Chauhan, “sexually exploited” his domestic help and “hushed up the matter by paying her Rs 1 lakh.”

AAP Barnala youth circle wing president Ravinder Singh Dhillon, its grievances committee in-charge Ishar Singh Fauji and volunteer Makhan Singh Namol released an audio clip Tuesday in which a ticket aspirant from Dhuri, Rajwant Singh Ghulli, was purportedly trying to convince a woman not to press rape charges against party Observer Vijay Chauhan.

In the clip, a woman’s voice was heard alleging that her “honour was compromised” and a male voice (allegedly Ghulli) was telling her “not to spoil his chances.” The volunteers alleged that the woman was later “paid off and sent to Amritsar.”

Ravinder Singh Dhillon told mediapersons that the woman was “sexually exploited” by Chauhan. He claimed the audio clip had been sent to senior party leaders but no action was taken. “She (the victim) is now in Amritsar… We don’t know her exact whereabouts. The conversation in the clip was recorded when she was talking to Ghulli over the phone when the incident came to light in June. She had given us the audio clip then. We have been seeking justice for her since then but no avail.”

However, Sanjay Singh has completely denied the claims saying, this was the first time he was hearing about the alleged incident. He refused to comment further on the matter, saying he was yet to hear the contents of the said audio tape. He added that strict action would be taken if the allegations were true.

On the other hand, Ghulli admitted that it was his voice in the tape but claimed that the woman and her husband were playing into the hands of certain elements who had “vested interests.”

A day after Aam Aadmi Party(AAP) Punjab observer Vijay Chauhan was accused of sexually exploiting his domestic help, Punjab Irrigation Minister and senior Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Sharanjit Singh Dhillon on Wednesday alleged that AAP people are not ordinary, and you will come to know gradually that they have links with such an agency, which is working to disintegrate the country, while demanding immediate investigation into the matter.

“AAP is involved in many scandals, every morning people in Punjab wake up to new scandal indulging AAP. Aam Aadmi Party people are not ordinary people. Gradually, you will find their links with an agency, which is working to disintegrate the country. That is why the AAP members make videos of Lok Sabha and try to leak secret information,” he added.

Eviction Of Chhotepur Threatens To Cause A Major Divide In The Party

As on Wednesday, 21 members of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), including members of Parliament Bhagwant Mann and Sadhu Singh demanded to sack AAP convener Sucha Singh Chhotepur, who has been accused of taking bribe for assigning constituencies to party candidates for the assembly elections to be held early next year.

As Aap party members chorus for his removal through a written letter to the Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, there are those who came in support of his removal as well thus causing  major tiff in the party.

Dr Manjit Singh Randhawa, a member of the Political Review Committee, has come out in support of Chhotepur, accusing Kejriwal of succumbing to the pressure from a coterie in the party and ignoring the ground realities. He alleged that the party was not run on democratic values. Giving an example of the autocratic way of running of the party, he said not a single meeting of the Political Review Committee had been called so far. Randhawa is likely to accompany Chhotepur, as he believes him to be an honest politician, to the latter’s press conference tomorrow.

The party’s Political Affairs Committee (PAC) is likely to meet at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s residence tomorrow to take a final call on his removal. Meanwhile, Chhotepur, spent the day preparing for a show of strength and to give his side of story to his volunteers.
