Is Himachal the next destination for AAP?

After Goa, Aam Aadmi Party has given strong indications of opening yet another poll front. With an eye on assembly polls scheduled next year in the hill state, AAP is organising “Himachal Badlo Rally”.

AAP has already made its intensions clear about Goa elections and now the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has opened up yet another electoral front by planning to hold “Himachal Badlo Rally” in Una district of Himachal Pradesh. The party seems to shift its might to hill state with Aam Aadmi Party’s Punjab state in charge, Sanjay Singh and MP from Sangrur Bhagwant Mann going all out to make their maiden rally in Himachal a success.

Sailing in multiple boats

AAP supremo, Arvind Kejriwal has already made his intentions clear about getting National party status for Aam Aadmi Party and for that prerequisite is to have sizeable presence in at least four states. AAP leaders would always state that they are not in poll fray in any other state other than Punjab. It must be noted that barring Punjab, AAP failed to make a mark anywhere else in the country in the general elections held in 2014. A massive 418 of their candidates had to forfeit their security deposit out 434.

In the absence of political base or organisation structure, AAP is slowly opening its card one after another and making it evident to content elections in other states besides Punjab.

Advertising spree across country

Aam Aadmi Party had earmarked a whopping Rs 526 crores for advertising immediately after taking charge in Delhi. More than ten times higher than ad budget of previous financial year, it was even higher than central government’s ad budget. Kejirwal invoked public ire for spending taxpayers’ money of self-publicity and was even slammed by High Court for its misdeeds. It must be noted that AAP had gone a massive advertising campaign across the country to celebrate its first year completion of governance in Delhi.
